OAPCE Toronto hopes all had a Merry Christmas, celebrated the Feast of the Holy Family yesterday with compassion and hope and look forward to a safe and prosperous New Year. As we approach Epiphany on the 6th of ;January and the Annual Ecumenical Observations on the 25th, let us all unite in our efforts to enhance student achievement everywhere.
2015 was declared as the International Year of Light by the UN. Light is essential for our children to do homework in the evening. For too many children in our world light is an unreliable utility or simply unavailable. As we consider the wondrous displays of light this time of year please think of those less fortunate and how you can help. From solar energy to thermal conservation there are a myriad of opportunities available to be pursued
The TCDSB’s Initiatives this school year focus on environmental conservation. Saving energy helps save funds better invested in educational endeavours. Find out how your child’s school is implementing it’s student learning improvement plan to take advantage of these initiatives. Consider how your household can reinforce some of these lesson for your own benefit and that of the community.
The archdiocese calendar for 2015 will include a focus on the Year of Consecrated Life. Learn about the 120 orders in our communities and how we can help them achieve their mission. As we become more enlightened on how our parish communities are interconnect, we can better fulfill the ecumenical mission of our faith to work together with other Christians communities to share the light of Christ.
