September, 2015

September's meeting included a presentation from the Office of the Ombudsman.

You will find attached a PDF of last night's presentation here.

The Ombudsman can now take complaints about school boards: Do you have an unresolved complaint about a school board? The Ontario Ombudsman (http://www.ombudsman.on.ca/Home.aspx) now has the power to investigate. If you’ve tried elsewhere and hit a dead end, the Ombudsman might be able to help – it’s confidential, independent of government, impartial and free. Ombudsman staff will resolve your issue, refer you to help, cut through red tape or launch a full investigation when warranted. For more information, check out www.ombudsman.on.ca, or call the Ombudsman’s complaints line at 1-800-263-1830.

You can also request brochures or subscribe to the Ombudsman’s e-newsletter by emailing thewatchdog@ombudsman.on.ca.  Feel free to contact us with any questions at info@ombudsman.on.ca, or file a complaint online here (link to: https://www.ombudsman.on.ca/Make-a-Complaint.aspx).
